Welcome to our friendly Club!

see upcoming events

Banwell Gardening Club was established in 1958 for the benefit of all gardeners in the village and those interested in gardening who may not have a garden of their own.

We are delighted that our club has such a long history and is thriving to this day!

You can read about the history of our club in the 50th Anniversary publication

club meetings

We meet in Banwell Village Hall at 7:30pm on the fourth Thursday of February, March, April, May, September, October, and November (see club calendar).

Please note that our AGM starts half an hour earlier at 7:00pm, just before our September meeting.

Our November meeting is our social night, which usually takes the form of a live band, quiz, raffle and the bar is open!

All other meetings include a speaker, raffle and refreshments.

The refreshments include tea, coffee and biscuits. There is a "Tea rota" for those willing to help by serving the refreshments. Please email the committee if you are willing to help out.

Attendance is free for members. Visitors are welcome to come along for a fee of £3 per person per meeting.

club shows

Our shows have been a great success over many years, with the Spring Show in March and the Horticultural Show in September. There are numerous sections from flowers to vegetables, baking to crafts plus many more which will be available on the schedule, which can be downloaded nearer the time. Trophies and cups are awarded for best exhibits.

The club has an online calendar, for upcoming meeting and day trips.

The calendar is provided by Google.

If you have a Google account then you can Add the club calendar to your Google account

If you do not have a Google account then you can create a google account.

After adding the club calendar to your google account, it should appear alongside your other calendars including on your mobile device. However, if it does not appear on your mobile device then you may need to check your Google Calendar sync settings making sure that the calendars you want to see on your mobile device are ticked.

If you have any problems with accessing the calendar please bring this up at one of our meetings or email the committee.

other activities

A Christmas lunch is usually arranged in January. This is not covered by the membership fee.
